Let Your Light Shine

Today, we introduced the "let your light shine" theme to all of the kids by talking about Matthew 5:14-16. It says, "You are the light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden - no one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, it is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." The children of Mkhombokati are truly the light of the world. As the Bible story was being translated, you could see their eyes light up with a passion for Christ. As they sang "My God Is So Big," their voices were filled with hope knowing that our God is a God of His word. These kids, despite their circumstances, are still making their way to the Mkombokati Care Point and to school, and are forging a path to a better tomorrow. As the 2014 mission team gets (re)acquainted with the kids and makes more home visits, it will be exciting to see the children’s personalities shine through. They have the power not only to change their own lives, but also the lives of their fellow Swazis. We are so thankful for the way the discipleship team is leading them to become more Christ-like. Please pray for these young people as they discover even more about what it means to let their light shine through. Faith, Hope, and Love, Bridget
